Our mission is to introduce the most sustainable insulation solutions for your needs. Our Earthwool insulation is made from 'Sand' which is one of earth's most abundant natural resources and up to 70% recycled glass, which reduces landfill and encourages recycling of glass products. These highly resilient, inorganic glass fibres are bound using advance Ecose Technology, a binder which has no added formaldehyde and is based on renewable bio-based materials instead of traditional petroleum-based chemicals. The technology has been developed for Knauf Insulation's glasswool and rock mineral wool products, enhancing our environmental credentials whilst maintaining the thermal, acoustic and fire performance and mechanical properties.
Earthwool insulation saves over 1000 times the amount of energy it takes to produce them and are recyclable at the end of their life. Ecose technology takes the standard to a whole new level. By eliminating the non renewably petroleum based chemicals found in traditional binders, Ecose technology reduces binder embodied energy by up to 70% compared to traditional methods, resulting in a reduction of glasswool embodied energy by approximately 4%.It dramatically reduces our carbon foot print and is a major success of Knauf Insulations ongoing sustainability program.
